I'll be there. Also helping out with the LED tape soldering sessions in the lab, so stop by and say hi!

Best Way to Mount LED Tape?

That's a cool product. I've never seen that before. And pretty reasonably priced too!

    Grid Iron Emergency Medical Plans

I'm not saying that I agree with that directive at all. I agree that getting someone out of a harness after a fall ASAP is imperative (just as the university's fall training session told us). Just pointing out that university politics could be interesting with regards to this sort of thing.

    Grid Iron Emergency Medical Plans

Being certified to rescue someone is all well and good, but when you work for a university with a risk/safety department on campus things are very different. As part of our huge grid retrofit a couple years ago (adding necessary fall protection and bringing the entire grid up to the current...

    Grid Iron Emergency Medical Plans

We're currently attempting to set up a site visit with our fire department to come out and visit the grid for them to see what exactly they would be dealing with in that scenario. We don't think they have ever been here for that purpose in the 40ish years of our building being in existence.I...

    "Dance Nation" falling light

We did this production last summer here at Northwestern. Our props department used our laser cutter to make a black matte board PAR can replica which was taped together. The show was blocked so that the cast was on the other half of the stage, so this allowed the "fixture" to freefall to the...

    I-Cue Start Up Issue

I don't think mine was a motor issue. Just the set screw that holds it to the motor shaft.

    Ron Hebbard

Couldn't make it to the virtual wake, but happy to hear it was a good send off. I never met Ron, but his input on this forum will be missed. I always enjoyed reading his stories and posts. RIP Ron.

    I-Cue Start Up Issue

Just to update for posterity: the issue was the mirror slipping on the shaft. Just had to make sure it was seated all the way and tightened the screws back down.

    I-Cue Start Up Issue

They aren't super old. 5-6 years at the most and they don't see very heavy use since the school only does 4 shows a year. The show comes down this weekend. I'll take the other working one home and run some tests with both of them.

    I-Cue Start Up Issue

Everything that I can check (patch, mode, etc) are as they should be. It seems like it is a startup issue. Every time it boots, it homes to the 45 degrees off center position.
